Becoming an Electrical Signing Supervisor (Master Electrician)
This is a 40-hour in-person comprehensive course in preparation for taking the State of Oregon examination for Electrical Signing Supervisors (Master Electrician) and Electrical Inspector Certification. The course will cover all of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Chapters, in conjunction with the 2017 Oregon Electrical Specialty Code (OESC), formal interpretations, and State of Oregon Rules and Statutes. There will be extensive study of the NEC requirements with home study of multiple choice questions for each attendee. In addition, there will be multiple electrical calculations that will include residential, commercial and industrial facilities. This course will earn 16 hours of CEU’s in Oregon and Washington.

Conductor Installation
Transformers
This 4 hour or 8 hour approved course for Washington CEU’s providing a detailed examination of electrical conductor uses, properties, and 2017 NEC requirements for Transformer installations. Topics will cover parallel conductors, conductor sizing and ratings that will include some in class calculations. there will be discussion of grounding, bonding with the conductor sizing. This course will address differences between the NEC and the OESC when specific code references as part of the program.
Calculations
This is a course where the attendee performs electrical calculations in the classroom based on the currently adopted Oregon Speciality Electrical Code (OESC).
Soares Grounding and Bonding
The 4-hr Par 1 presentation will provide clarification and understanding of the changes to 2017 Grounding and Bonding of the “National Electrical Code” (NEC). Training will cover grounding fundamentals, /electrical service grounding, bonding jumpers, grounding electrode conductors and equipment grounding.
The 4-hr Par 2 presentation will provide clarification and understanding of the changes to 2017 Grounding and Bonding of the “National Electrical Code” (NEC). Training will cover (transformer) separately derived systems, grounding and bonding as separate buildings or structures, and grounding bonding of low voltage system intersystem grounding.
